ABOUT ABOUT

It's time for the Annual Membership Meeting of the Friends of Arlington's David M. Brown Planetarium!
This year we're holding the meeting virtually, but it will cover the same essential business as always - a review of last year and a look at what's coming this year, a proposed budget, and the election of some of the members of the Board of Directors. As a small, all volunteer organization, we value your participation and suggestions!

At 1:30pm, before the business portion of the meeting, there will also be a special presentation by scientist and researcher Max Parks:

Title: NASA and Politics: How to Conduct Space Science within a Bureaucracy

Description: The talk will provide an overview of NASA’s evolving role in the US Federal Government, and also provide insight on the political factors that guide NASA’s efforts.

Biography: Max Parks is a lifelong student of space and science, with degrees in physics, astronomy, and science policy. He is currently working on his PhD in Geophysics and Space Physics at UCLA. Max has worked at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, studying Mars, as well as the atmospheres of the outer solar system.
